Members of Congress from Iowa weigh in on the vote on government spending

On Friday, the U.S. House of Representatives approved a bill aimed at ensuring the government remains operational for the upcoming months, mere hours before the impending deadline. The legislation is set to advance to the U.S. Senate for further consideration.

Iowa’s four representatives in the House have cast their votes in favor of a bill that allocates billions in agricultural assistance aimed at supporting farmers.

Each member provided insights regarding their vote.

Mariannette Miller-Meeks represents Iowa’s 1st District.

“I have just cast my vote in favor of the Farm Bill extension aimed at providing relief for farmers in Iowa who are facing challenges.” In 2025, I will promptly advance my initiatives for PBM reform, the permanency of telehealth, site neutrality policies, physician reimbursement reform, and the year-round sale of E-15. The statement expresses a strong desire to collaborate with President Trump on advancing the America First Agenda during the 119th Congress.

Ashley Hinson represents Iowa’s 2nd District.

President Trump’s leadership has resulted in the government remaining open, successfully avoiding a significant year-end spending spree. Additionally, the Farm Bill has been extended, and essential relief has been provided for farmers and individuals affected by natural disasters. He is actively assisting Americans in saving money while prioritizing those in need. Calls are growing to put an end to the chaos and dysfunction in Washington, D.C. The proposal involves the passage of 12 single-subject appropriations bills aimed at reducing wasteful spending and enhancing accountability. Efforts will be made to guarantee the achievement of these goals, alongside the commitment to provide year-round E-15, which aims to strengthen the rural economy, support Iowa farmers, and enhance American energy independence.

Zach Nunn represents Iowa’s 3rd District.

Iowa is home to 87,000 family farms, which serve as a crucial foundation for America by providing the essential services of feeding and fueling the nation. Individuals are entitled to improved conditions, particularly as rising input costs and inflation continue to diminish profits. They should not bear the burden of politicians neglecting their responsibilities. Today, I cast my vote to extend funding for essential farm programs and to offer financial support for family farms, ensuring that Iowa’s producers can maintain their operations. The fight for a five-year Farm Bill is set to intensify, with a focus on Iowa’s role in advancing energy independence through biofuels.

Randy Feenstra represents Iowa’s 4th District.

Today, I joined President Trump to announce measures aimed at providing relief for farmers, extending the Farm Bill, and assisting communities in their recovery from the severe floods and tornadoes experienced this year. During my 36 County Tour, I encountered numerous families, farmers, and small business owners expressing their need for support to recover. This legislation aims to provide that much-needed assistance. Anticipation surrounds the collaboration with President Trump to advance conservative budget priorities, eliminate wasteful spending, and enhance government efficiency.
