Lost for two years, a mini goldendoodle was found 300 miles away from home.

A Twin Cities couple is experiencing a brighter holiday season after being recently reunited with their mini goldendoodle. A dog has been missing for over two years after it ran away from its home.

Corduroy, the beloved dog, has gone missing.
In a notable incident from two years ago, Corduroy was reported missing, capturing the attention of many. The search for the missing dog has intensified, with the owners scouring every possible location, yet their efforts have yielded no results. The search concluded last month with the discovery of Corduroy in Iowa.

“I approached him, leaned down, and asked him to smell me, saying, ‘Do you remember me?'” recounted Chris Hoefer, the father of Corduroy.

October 22, 2022, marks a significant date that the couple will always remember.

A friend of ours was responsible for dog sitting in the room. A friend was walking him when he was unexpectedly attacked by another dog. “He broke free from his collar and fled,” stated Hoefer.

Efforts are underway to locate a missing dog.

Chris Hoefer and his husband are experiencing a long-awaited moment as they continue to seek answers regarding the disappearance of their pet, Corduroy. They are currently welcoming back the love and joy that his presence brings.

“He remains incredibly comfortable around us, and he continues to be a sweet and gentle dog, just like he was two years ago,” stated Christiaan Montgomery, the owner of Corduroy.

In the aftermath, authorities received nearly 500 tips, yet two years of searching yielded no results. That is, until a particular voicemail arrived:

A stray dog was brought in, and upon scanning for microchips, it was discovered that the chip is registered to you.

On November 10, the Dubuque Iowa Humane Society made headlines.

“I found it hard to believe.” “I was astonished to learn that it took place in Dubuque, Iowa, nearly 300 miles from here,” stated Montgomery.

A couple embarked on a drive, successfully bringing Corduroy home for the holidays, thanks to his microchip.

Montgomery stated, “I’ve been keeping his chip active since he went missing, just in the hopes that one day he might show up at a location where they had a scanner.”

Lindsay Koopmann from The Retrievers Volunteer Last Dog Team advises that if you encounter a stray dog, the first step is to have it scanned. Dogs like Corduroy are able to celebrate Christmas alongside their owners.

“Koopmann stated that without being microchipped, there was no chance he would have found his way home and been reunited.”
