Event: Parkland Students and Advisors Join Mary-Beth Tinker in Event at Raygun
Are you involved in social activism? Do you have a stance on free speech and gun control? Do you believe in storytelling as a tool for change?
Tomorrow, Saturday February 23rd, the students and advisors from Marjory Stoneman Douglas will be joining local heroine and free speech pioneer Mary Beth Tinker at RAYGUN to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Tinker vs. Des Moines. Screen printed “Don’t Tinker With My Rights” t-shirts benefiting the Tinker Tour USA will be available, as well as a book signing with Melissa Falkowski and Sarah Lerner from their new books “We Say #Never Again” and “Parkland Speaks”.
They’ll be accompanied by the Parkland student journalists as they travel the country advocating for common sense gun laws and covering this weekend’s Tinker Anniversary events.
‘We Say #Never Again’ – A journalistic look at the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland and the fight for gun control–as told by the student reporters for the school’s newspaper and TV station.
‘Parkland Speaks’ – Featuring art and writing from the students of the Parkland tragedy, this is a raw look at the events of February 14, and a poignant representation of grief, healing, and hope.
We would love it if you would share this event with those who may be interested. For more information on the events go to: https://
