The enrollment period for 2018 now ends December 15th, a significantly shorter time span than previous years, so it is more crucial than ever to take advantage of this enrollment period as soon as possible.
Here’s how you can sign up for health coverage under the Affordable Care Act.
- Apply online at healthcare.gov. From there, if you are new, you may create an account. If you are a returning user, simply sign in at the login screen.
- If you would like to apply over the phone you can call the Marketplace Call Center at 1-800-318-2596 (TTY: 1-855-889-4325). The Call Center is available 24/7 with the exception of Thanksgiving Day.
- If you would prefer to apply in person, you can search for a local assistant to help you. Just type in your city and state or zip code in the local assistance locator.
- You can fill out a paper form and mail in your enrollment instead. You can find that application here. The instructions for filling out the application can be found here.
Remember, you only have until December 15th to enroll for the 2018 season, so the sooner you start the better off you’ll be.
