Green Party Candidate Announces Congressional Bid

Green Party member and former Sanders National Delegate, Daniel Clark, announced his bid for the Iowa’s second congressional district seat in 2018.

“The Political Revolution that [Bernie Sanders] started revealed the darker side of the rigged economy we all face today.” Clark stated. “I want to continue the revolution he started”.

In the announcement, Clark outlined some of the issues he wanted to focus on the most, including a $15 minimum wage, industrial hemp, medical cannabis, and the reformation of current election system to include open primaries and rank choice voting.

Clark also noted that he will refuse any funding from superPACs, and rely only on small donations, citing the problem of big money in politics.

“In honor of those who were inspired by Bernie Sanders and Jill Stein like I was,” Clark said in closing, “regardless if we win or lose, I will not stop pushing for progress for us all”.

Absent any primary challenger, Clark will go up against Democratic incumbent Representative Dave Loebsack in the midterm elections in 2018.
